Louise was an independent woman, starting her career as a registered nurse. She received her RN in 1946, working as head nurse of the obstetric department at a Catholic hospital in Boston.
After getting married, she rededicated her life to raising 7 very independent children.
Louise’s independence served her well as an army wife, raising her children while her husband served overseas in Japan and Korea. After her kids were grown, Louise became a teacher's aide, working with handicapped children in middle school. She was an excellent seamstress and cook, passing those skills on to her children.
Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Paradis; father, Wilfred Vezina; and mother, Emma Vezina. She is survived by her sister, Cheryl; her daughters, Marsha, Elizabeth, Kathleen, Donna, and Karen; and her sons, Michael and Douglas. There are four grandsons, one granddaughter, one great granddaughter, and two great grandsons (with one more great grandson on the way).
A reception for Louise will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, followed by a committal service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
