Luanne was preceded in death by her loving husband Gregory William Daues, her parents Robert and Katherine Ranstrom, and siblings Roberta Foreman, Ray Ranstrom, James Ranstrom, and Carolyn Mendick.
Luanne was born on December 10, 1932, in McPherson, Kansas and moved to Buena Vista, Colorado at a young age where she enjoyed growing up in a small town and beautiful landscape. Her senior class was complete with eight other students, and she would be crowned the town’s Rodeo Queen that same summer. A festival celebration followed, and it was there that Luanne would meet and later marry the love of her life, Greg Daues. After a short time in Albuquerque, New Mexico while Greg finished his master’s degree in chemistry, the young couple moved to Texas City, Texas for Greg’s new job and to begin their family. They would later move to Dickinson, Texas with their four children where they lived for the next 44 years until Greg’s unexpected death.
Many wonderful and forever memories live in our hearts as Luanne loved hosting her famous gourmet dinners for family and friends. There are the countless stories depicting those wonderful days in and around the pool – both Luanne and Greg loved having everyone home as it was an oasis for all. Luanne was an accomplished seamstress, many of her stunning creations are still being passed down between generations of the Daues’ girls.
Luanne eventually moved to League City, Texas and lived the rest of her life in the “Purple Horse” house – perfect as she loved everything purple. Luanne will always remain in our hearts for the loving and caring mother she was to each of us. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
