She married Raul C. Barajas Sr. on March 4, 1961. She was a devout member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.
Lucy was preceded in death by her mother Juana Mejia, father Antonio Hernandez, and grandson Isareal Villareal III.
Lucy is survived by her husband of sixty years, Raul C. Barajas Sr.; three children, Sylvia Barajas, Raul C. Barajas Jr. and wife Elenita Barajas, Cynthia Barajas-Padilla and husband Kenneth Padilla; five grandchildren, Roland Barajas, Stephanie Padilla, Garrod Villareal, Elyssa Barajas, Raymond Barajas; five great grandchildren, Evelyn Villareal, Aubrey Barajas, Haleigh Villareal, Matthew Barajas, Mason Barajas; and sister Jane Ortiz.
Serving as pallbearers are Raul C. Barajas Jr., Kenneth Padilla, Roland Barajas, Stephanie Padilla, Garrod Villareal, Isareal Villareal Jr.
The family will receive friends for visitation August 18, 2021, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, a funeral service at 10:00 AM at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2131 Lauder Road, Houston, TX 77039, followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park.
