My name is Steve Moore and I had the absolute pleasure of working along side Lynette as a Clinical Team Leader at the NW clinic. I will always remember Lynette’s kindness and gentle soul. I used to pop in her office regularly “to hide out and get 30 seconds of calm”. Lynette and I used to talk about a lot of different things when we worked together. I have such fond memories and know that she is now at rest with her father in heaven. Condolences to her family.

To the  the family of Lynette Shepherd Mayes,
My deepest condolences and prayers are with you.  Lynette was one of the only people that we would do anything for. She took great pride in meeting the needs of the consumers as well as her colleagues.  There were times when consumers would present at the clinic that  did not have a scheduled to see the MD or nurse, etc. Lynette would find a window of opportunity on their schedules,  call the MD or nurse and ask if she could place the consumer on their schedule.  No one ever told her no. That is a testament to her character.  She was committed to providing excellent consumer services and meeting the needs of the consumers. 
Her kindness,  loyalty, and candor were unwavering.  She was the same person each day and a joy to be around. I am blessed to have worked with her.
On 12/13/2025, the service was a beautiful testament of the life that she lived.  Colleagues from the past and present from The Harris Center were there to celebrate her life. She was truly a blessing to me during my tenure with the agency. 
The Bible says, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." May you find solace in knowing that her works on this earth was a blessing and a reflection of the wonderful woman she was. May you find solace in knowing that she is with Lord! May God comfort , strengthen and keep you! Rhonda Herndon

My sincere condolences to the entire family! I worked with Lynnette for a few years and she was always so lovely to me! My prayers to the entire family! I know she is in the presence of God! We will see her one Day!🤍

My prayers go out to the Shepherd/Mayes families.  Lynnette was a good friend, co-worker and a joy to be around.  She will be deeply missed.

My prayers for your family, that you may find some peace and comfort through these difficult days. May her soul rest in peace. Lynette was a sweet, hardworking and dependable person. I greatly appreciated that no matter what complicated problem was going on, she would find a solution in her calm way.  We will miss her greatly.

My prayers are with the family on your loss. As a 21 year employee at the Harris Center, it was a pure pleasure working with Lynette while at NW clinic  from 2004 -2008. I appreciated her efficiency and warm personality in all of our interactions. I will remember  her and smile forever.
