Lizandro Flores of Houston, Texas passed away on Saturday April 25, 2015 at the age of 74. He was born on December 25, 1940, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Luis Flores and Gregoria Vidal. He was a righteous and caring man who loved his family and friends.
As a young man Lizandro taught himself to play classic guitar and sing. He fell in love with the mariachi genre of music and decided to pursue his artistic aspirations throughout Mexico. He had better luck in the United States performing at Mexican Restaurants in the Houston area such as La Hacienda, Chapala, Carlos, Manuel’s, Two Amigos, and Victor’s.
Lizandro Flores is survived by his wife Maria Luisa Gonzalez Flores and their two children, their son Emanuel Flores and daughter Marily Flores.
The family will receive friends in The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024 on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Vigil at 7:00 pm. The funeral liturgy will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 8825 Kempwood Dr., Houston, Texas 77080 on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:00 am and the rite of committal will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, Texas 77023.
