Manuel Montana

Manuel Montana passed away at the age of 90 on October 4, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his wife Emma and his parents Francisco and Carlota Montana. He is survived by his brothers Marcus and Leandro Montana, along with his four children – Cynthia Soria (Julian), Theresa Hernandez (Frank), Gloria Rios and Manuel Montana Jr. (Susan). He had nine grandchildren – Dawn, Matthew, Nicole, Danielle, Christopher, Melissa (Terry), Robert (Trish), Aaron (Christina) and Lee, as well as six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Manuel was born in 1926 in Elgin, Texas. He later moved with his family, four brothers and six sisters, to Yoakum, Texas. In 1947, he moved to Houston where he met and married Emma Villarreal and was blessed with their four children. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother, Manuel was fun-loving with a delightful sense of humor and a friendly personality to all around him. His love for his family was evident by his participation and his presence at every special occasion.

Manuel was deeply religious and was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
