There will always be a little part of me that wishes she was still here. I wish I was still six years old, sitting on the arm of her recliner chair as she reads me as many books as I wanted. Or when I got too big to sit in her chair with her, we would play a game of sorry at the side of her chair. I would give anything for her to make me one more cup of coffee in the morning. Because I know I'll never have a cup of coffee that tastes the same again. My Grammy is my biggest inspiration. She is one of the many reasons I want to be a teacher. She even influenced me to apply to work at a daycare, working there makes me feel close to her in a way. It's why I love my job so much. Grammy taught me how to be a lover and a fighter. That forgiveness is important, and she is most definitely the reason I am just as stubborn as she was. There will be a lot of things that will never be the same. Getting a haircut, eating at a Casa Ole Mexican Restaurant, making a salad, watching the sunset, listening to Dolly Parton, Someone simply saying my name, and so many more. Because all of these things make me think of her. I already miss her more than words could explain, but I know she will never be far away, cause I know she's watching over all of us.

Hello, for those of you that don’t know, I’m Angela – Margaret Aline’s youngest daughter.  I want to thank all of you for being here to celebrate my Mama. Margaret, or Peggy as a lot of you know her, means “Pearl”. Mom overcame a lot of adversity in her lifetime. Like an oyster, she persevered with resilience and layered it with beauty and love.  Aline means “Bearer of Light”. Even as shadows were cast upon her, if someone was in the dark, she unabashedly gave her light, love and Faith. Mom was always very proud to carry the names of her Mama’s sisters, Aunt Margaret and Aunt Sarah Aline. She also felt very honored to have her first granddaughter, Aline, named after her. Mom was an honorable and forgiving soul, her laughs were infectious, she loved to cook and delighted in singing Praises.
Not too long ago she told me not to be sad when she was gone. She said, “When I reach the pearly gates, I’ll be singing His glory and roller skating down the golden streets of my eternal home.” She told me there would be no more pain – physical or otherwise.
My Mama has showered me with love and peace throughout my life.  But especially now, even as I walk this earth without her hand to hold, I can feel her Peace as she shares it with me. I can feel her hope and love and faith. I can feel her arms around me and hear her whispers in my ear. I know she will never leave me. I sincerely hope every one of you can feel her too.
So, don’t be sad about, or for my Mama – open your heart and feel her love. Let’s celebrate her life and share stories of her love. Her legacy lives on through us.         


I was lucky to have known Margaret for many years! I always enjoyed spending with with her & Minnie at the kitchen table shelling peas or picking bird feathers. After all the hard work, I would watch them play a round of dominoes or skip bo. She always thought of our boys at Christmas & stayed in touch after Minnies passing. I have always thought the world of Margaret, Jackie, & the family.
The service yesterday was beautiful. Thinking of you all during this time. ❤

Margaret was my neighbor across the street for many years. I always admired her spunk. She had a good sense of humor and a nonsensical attitude toward life. And, boy, could she talk away a storm. She'll be dearly missed.

Sending hugs & well wishes to her family. Margaret was always nice, friendly, & funny, and she always made me feel welcome in her presence.  RIP Margaret.
