

Margaret "Peggy" Hughes, age 84, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025. Born in Youngstown, Ohio on November 28, 1940, Peggy moved with her family to Pasadena at the age of 9 and called it home for the rest of her life. She was married to Joe Hughes and raised two sons together. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Peggy was cherished by all who knew her.
In her younger years, Peggy enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including drinking coffee and playing cards with her close friends. Above all, she loved caring for her family and nurturing those she loved. In her later years, Peggy found comfort in watching Family Feud and keeping a watchful eye on the comings and goings of her neighborhood from her living room window. She even liked to play the slots on occasion. Her warm presence and generosity will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Peggy's legacy lives on through her family. She was survived by her children, James "Dale" Hughes and partner Brooke Wesson, John Hughes and wife Robyn; grandchildren, Jeremy Hughes and wife Sarah, Monty Hughes, Bryce Hughes and wife Jennifer, Tyler Hughes, Elyse Hughes, and Blacey Hughes; great-grandchildren, Nyelli Hughes, Colt Hughes, Jaxon Hughes, Ellie Hughes, and Luke Hughes. Peggy is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard "Dickie" and Jean McInnis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary McInnis, her brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Gloria McInnis, and her grandson, James David Hughes.
Peggy was very loving and never met a stranger. Her memory will be forever treasured by her family. In this time of sorrow, they take comfort in knowing that her love and spirit will remain in their hearts always.
A private family graveside service will be held to celebrate Peggy’s life. The family appreciates all the love and support they have received during this difficult time.
