Margaret Katherine Marion was born on November 17, 1983 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She died September 7, 2015 as a result of complications from pneumonia. A corporate takeover resulted in her moving to Texas before her first birthday. She lived first in the Spring area and then moved to West Houston when she was in kindergarten. She attended Spring Branch schools as well as a private school she and her mother helped found.
Margaret is survived by:
• Her parents, Sue and Charles Marion
• Her sisters
o Laura (and her husband Erick Faul and their children Katie and Jack)
o Rebecca “Becca” (and her husband Dustin Wolfe and their children Graham and Brooke)
o Elizabeth “Liz” (and her husband Harlie Raethel and their children Trafford, Emberly and Westin)
• Her paternal grandparents Malcolm and Peggy Marion
• Her maternal grandmother Lula Mae Cook
• And numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is also survived by caregivers who lovingly helped care for her – most recently Tricia Williams, Amber Magby, and especially Ramona Brunson who helped care for her over 20 years.
Margaret is predeceased by her brother Robert Charles Marion and her paternal grandfather, Harold Spillman.
Margaret was the oldest of triplets. She was born prematurely and had a brain bleed when she was a few days old. She was left quadriplegic and unable to talk. However, she found ways to communicate with those who took the time to get to know her. She was very social and greeted people with her trademark “big smile” that could light up a room. She loved going places and was frequently seen shopping. She remembered her teachers and Sunday School teachers and would greet them warmly whenever she saw them.
Margaret became a Christian when she was 15 years old. She and her mother were watching Christian television and she prayed the sinner’s prayer along with the speaker. In recent years, Margaret became of a part of the Tallowood Treasures Bible Study class. She was eager to go each Sunday to see her friends and teachers in that class.
Although she will be greatly missed, we know that she in now in heaven without the many limitations that she had here on earth. That is a hope that we all have in Christ Jesus, but it seems even more special for those who have been so limited in this world.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 10 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas from 4:00 to 6:00pm.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Friday, September 11 in the Chapel at Tallowood Baptist Church, 555 Tallowood Drive, Houston Texas 77024 with a reception following.
