Her family moved to Houston in 1961, where she graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School. She married the love of her life, Oscar E. Zambrano, on July 5, 1969. They lived in Houston, TX where they raised three children. In 2003, they moved to Spring, TX making that their final home. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Mercedes Aguirre. Left to cherish her memory are her spouse, Oscar E. Zambrano, daughter Veronica King and husband Chad, her sons Oscar Zambrano Jr. and his wife Sonia, and Mario Alberto Zambrano; her grandchildren, Cody King and wife Abigail, Laura and Olivia King, Alexis, Gabrielle, Natalie and Gianna Zambrano; her brothers Jose Luis Aguirre and wife Amelia, Jesse Aguirre and wife Marquiestella, her sister Rosie Moya, and just like a sister, Hermila Venegas and her husband Olegario, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Margaret retired from the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth) after 25 years. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, dancing, baking and cooking for her loved ones, celebrating family holidays, especially with all her children and grandchildren. Margaret was the treasurer of the UT Houston Retiree Organization. She volunteered at Prince of Peace Mercy Center and always had a warm welcome and smile for anyone she greeted. Margaret will be remembered for her quiet humility, deep faith and generosity of spirit. She was, as she used to say, “ Fast, Focused, Flexible, Friendly and Fun,” Fun being the most important.
The family would like to thank everyone for their continued thoughts and prayers.
