Te extraño y te quiero mucho grandma. Gracias por cuidarnos siempre hasta del cielo ❤️

Grandma, I have so many memories of you that you cannot even imagine!  I enjoyed accompanying you and Tia Sylvia to the Chinese restaurant Lucky Inn ordering Mongolian beef, and then catching a bus to Sharpstown mall.  It was always an adventure for me when I joined you.  I also remember you always making my favorite breakfast, papas con huevo and always with a few sprinkles of Lawry’s salt and ketchup per my request (what a combination! Lol) I, along with Bo, remember picking you up from work at The Westin Oaks.  You also were the person who gave me so much faith in God when we went to San Juan, Texas together, and it is still instilled in me til this day.  You’re heart, smile, wit and everything else about you will always be with me.  Our memories will live forever, and we will meet again.  

Grandma I miss you so much. I don’t think there are enough words to express the amount of pain and grief I am feeling at your loss, but I know you wouldn’t want us to be sad. I know that if you could, you would have stayed. 

Thank you for being a second mom not only to me but to everyone you raised. You taught so much, humility, strength, grace, how to speak our mind when something wasn’t right, how to laugh at ourselves, and how to be the kindest person in the room. I wish I could have just one more morning with you sitting at the table, eating some pan dulce and watching Caso Cerado or whatever cooking show was one before you got up to start cooking for everyone. I wish I could have one more moment of watching and learning how to cook from you. Thank you for teaching that the greatest joys you can have in life come from spending time with family every chance you can get. 

My heart is broken, but I know you will watch over us and continue to bring us all the comfort and joy as you did in life. Descansa ya grandma. Te amo para siempre. 

Grandma,
I will miss you with every ounce of my heart. But I know you wouldn’t want any of us to be sad. You helped raise all of us, and we have all grown to be amazing people because of it. 
I remember how you used to make me all of the  best cheese quesadillas I could eat in one sitting! And how if we ordered fried chicken, you wanted me to save you the huesos because you liked the marrow. I remember when you told me that you loved my laugh. I was always made fun of because of it and you said it always made you happy. After that, I laughed everyday and as often as possible. 
I know you’re at peace now and dancing hand in hand with grandpa. I know you’ll be watching over us now, just as you did when we were kids. I love you.

The matriarch of the Cano family has passed on to eternal life, and my most sincere and deepest condolences stretch out to all that held her dear. Your legacy will be celebrated by all of us. Large angels take a long time unfolding their wings, but when they do, they soar out of sight. Your enormous heart and humility made the biggest impact on me, and I will strive to be half the person you were. We love you and will never forget the lessons you shared with us.

Ama, Dios nos dio muchos felices años con usted. La mas linda Madre que uno quisiera tener.  Siempre se preocuba de todos sus hijos. Estas ultimos meses fueron muy  dificil para nosotros. Pero Dios tiene planes para todos. Yo se que nos esta cuidando desde el Cielo.  La quiero mucho, quisiera decirle "Vamonos", y usted decia hasta Coushatta no esta muy lejos, nos dejas en el Pajaro. Hasta que nos veamos en el Paraiso. Abrazos y Besos.

I’ll miss hearing your laugh and all of your sayings:
“Ni modo.”
“Quien sabe.”
“Corazón de pollo” when we were scared 
“Si Dios quiere.”
“Ya me voy a tirar.”
“Que se cuidan.”
“Ni comes” when we asked for only 3 tacos. 
“Chonchito” to Scooby 
“Mañana” when we’d ask you for a hug for Scooby.

I’ll miss your flautas, breaded chicken, chocolate milk you’d make with Nesquik as a kid, chicken tacos, toasted pan Frances with butter. I’ll miss playing bingo with you. I’ll miss watching the news or Caso Cerrado  with you and hearing your commentary. I’ll miss how you always shared with others. Just this past Christmas, I gave you a jar of polvorones, and you shared some with Tia Mari. I’ll remember how you never dieted, but you always enjoyed all the foods you wanted  in moderation with your small portions (with your small bread plate you’d use to eat from at restaurants). I’ll remember to be kind and giving, like you taught us to. I’ll remember how almost every room in your house had crosses, saints, and holy water showing your strong faith. 

I’ll miss hearing your walker’s tennis balls hit the ground because I knew you’d be coming to say hi. 

I’ll miss holding your hand.

My heart hurts, but I know you wouldn’t want to see us suffering, so I’ll try to be strong for you.

Grandma, 
I still can’t believe this is real. Words cannot express how much I miss you. I don’t know how I’m going to live the rest of my life without you. I miss our daily phone calls after work. I miss your smile and your laugh. But I’m happy you’re finally in peace and where you belong. My childhood was amazing because of you. Growing up with you will always be one of the best parts of my life. You walking down the hallway saying mija and Ericina are memories I’ll hold in my heart forever. Thank you for being the best second mom and for all your help raising me. I am who I am today because of you. I love you with everything I have and I will miss you for the rest of my life. I can’t wait to see you in the next lifetime. I love you Grandma. Always and forever.

Fue un placer haberla conocido.  Soy amiga de Martha y tal vez no se acuerde de mi. Martha siempre hablaba muy bonito de usted. Me decía lo rico que cocinaba y cómo compartía con ella y la familia.  Se que la van a extrañar pero también se que usted siempre los estará vigilando desde el hermoso lugar donde está.
