Maria S. Chavez, age 86, of Houston, Texas (2nd Ward) passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. She was born on September 23, 1938. Maria received her high school diploma and later married Jose Chavez on October 13, 1963. Maria was a loving spouse and mother to her children. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and had a passion for her family, cooking, life, church and her grandchildren. She loved music, all day, everyday. She is survived by her loving spouse Jose Chavez, children, Salvador Chavez, Arturo Chavez and Monica Welter. Grandchildren, Vicente, Alejandro and Ivan Chavez, Christian and Vicky Cepeda, Matias, Lucy and Marciano Chavez and her Brother Esteban Macias.
A visitation for Maria will be held Monday, December 2, 2024 from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A rosary service will occur Monday, December 2, 2024 at 7:00 pm, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2405 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas 77003. A committal service will occur Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, Texas 77023.
