Maria Oliva Garcia De Rozo

María Oliva García De Rozo, “olí” a la edad de 80 años, falleció el Lunes 16 de Mayo del 2011 en la ciudad de Houston, Texas Estados Unidos. Olivia u Olí como cariñosamente las personas que la conocieron le decían. Nació en Betulia Santander, Colombia ; hija de Temís García Prada(el cual murió poco antes de nacer olí) y de Ana María Gómez Orejarena.

Olivia pudo cumplir todas las metas propuestas, y a muy temprana edad se traslado de su pueblo natal en busca de un mejor futuro para ella y su familia . Vivió en Bucaramanga y trabajo en el área bancaria por muchos anos, posteriormente por su desempeño fue ascendida y transferida a Bogotá con el Banco Comercial Antioqueno. Fue parte de el comité de organización de creación de una nueva institución bancaria “Banco Gran-colombiano”, bajo la dirección en aquel entonces de Carlos Trujillo, y allí laboro por quince años, donde entre sus cargos dirigió el programa de crédito educativo. Posteriormente Humberto Vegalara le propone cambiar de rumbo y trabajar en el sector privado y trasladarse a “Motorysa”, en donde trabajo como su asistente personal por quince años, y en sus últimos años en la compañía, trabajo cercanamente e hizo la transición de su trabajo a Patricia de Salgar hasta el momento de su jubilación.

Una vez jubilada vivió en Ciudad Bolívar Venezuela, Bogotá, Bucaramanga, Mérida Venezuela y por ultimo se mudo a Ureña Venezuela donde vivió en un Convento de monjas Carmelitas terciarias por cuatro años, en un retiro espiritual constante con su hermana Bertha María García. Por su personalidad caritativa, integridad, positivismo, su abnegación y total respeto al prójimo, dejo grandes enseñanzas de amor y comprensión, promulgando la palabra de dios y la fe, ella era fiel devota a la virgen María, al padre, al hijo y al espíritu santo, cambiando y ayudando a muchas vidas en su paso terrenal.

Desde 1996 Olivia vivió entre Bucaramanga – Colombia y Houston – Texas USA , donde finalmente falleció.

Olivia fue un miembro activo de la iglesia y una verdadera devota de dios, Ella dedico su vida , tiempo y energía en la manutención y cuidado de su único hijo y proveyendo de cuidados a su hermana Bertha García quien murió en el 2009.

Sus Familiares les hacen participes de su muerte incluyendo su esposo Rafael Rozo Ruiz, su hijo Juan Carlos Rozo García , nuera Raquel Rozo Hansen y dos nietos, Carlos Felipe Rozo y Juan Sebastian Rozo. Y demás familiares

Visitas Viernes, 20 Mayo 20, 2011 en Advantage Funeral Home , 7010 Chetwood Dr. Houston, Texas 77081 de las 5:00 P.M. a 9:00 P.M. Santa misa de cuerpo presente el sábado, 21 de Mayo, 2011 a las 9:30 A.M. en St. Laurence Iglesia Católica , 3100 Sweetwater Blvd. Sugar Land, Texas 77479. Posteriormente sus cenizas serán llevadas a Lourdes.

Maria Oliva Garcia De Rozo”Oli”, 80, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2011 in Houston, Texas. Olivia or Oli as she was affectionate called by friends and family was born in Betulia Santander, Colombia to Temis Garcia Prada (her father died suddenly shortly after her birth) and Ana Maria Gomez Orejarena.

Olivia could accomplish anything she set her mind to do; at early age she left her hometown to look for a better future for herself and her family. She lived in Bucaramanga and worked in the bank industry, subsequently then she was ascended and transferred to Santafé de Bogota with the Comercial Antioqueño Bank. She was actively involved in the creation of a new bank “Banco Grancolombiano” where Carlos Trujillo was its president, she directed the educational loan department, and she worked there for fifteen years, subsequently Humberto Vegalara ask her to change direction and join the private sector and offer her a position in Motorysa a family company owned, she labored as the personal assistant company president for fifteen years, and in the last years laboring in the company, she transition her responsibilities to Patricia de Salgar until her retirement.

Once enjoying retirement she lived in Ciudad Bolivar Venezuela, Bogotá Colombia Bucaramanga Colombia, Merida Venezuela and lastly she moved to Ureña Venezuela, where she lived in a Convent for four years, in a constant spiritual retreat with her sister Bertha Maria Garcia Gomez. Due to joyful and her charitable personality, her positivism, abnegation and respect to others, left us with great teachings of love and comprehension, delivering the lords word where ever she went and the lords faith, she was devoted to the virgin Mary, the father, the son and the holy spirit, and she changed so many lives in her terrestrial journey.

Since 1996 she lived between Bucaramanga and Houston Tx, until she passed away, in Houston Tx.

She was an active member of the church and a truly believer in god. She devoted much of her time and energy in rising and taking care of her only son also as a caregiver of her sister Bertha Maria Garcia Gomez who passed away in 2009.

She is survived by her husband, Rafael Rozo Ruiz, son, Juan Carlos Rozo Garcia and wife Raquel and two grandchildren, Carlos Felipe Rozo and Juan Sebastian Rozo.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2011 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7010 Chetwood Dr. Houston, Texas 77081 from 5:00 P.M. To 9:00 P.M. A Mass will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 3100 Sweetwater Blvd. Sugar Land, Texas 77479. Her ashes will be taken to Lourdes.
