Maria Teresa Hernandez

Our beloved mother, Maria Teresa Hernandez, 71, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in Houston, Texas. She was born in Mexico, on March 14, 1955. ‘Teresa’ was known for her unwavering strength, her faith, and love for her family. She was member of Legion of Mary at Assumption Church, visiting and praying for the sick.

Teresa enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, watching casino videos, cooking, and attending church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Claudio Hernandez.

She is survived by her children, Norma Sanchez, Nelva Hernandez, Ruby Hernandez, Jesus Joel Hernandez, and Nataly Hernandez; her grandchildren, Gustavo Sanchez, Isabella Nunez, Julian Nunez, Theresa Roman, Jonah Betancourt, and Zoe Roman. Teresa left us behind her lessons of strength, kindness, love, and resilience. Her self-less way of living guided her children’s lives, as their protector, best friend, confidant, and overall amazing mother. We will carry her love in our heart forever.

A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, TX 77003, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Church services will be held at Assumption Catholic Church on 901 Roselane St, Houston, TX 77037 on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Followed by a Committal Service at 11:00 AM at Historic Hollywood Cemetery, 3506 N Main St, Houston, TX 77009.
