White blank pages, that is what Mom left us. Blank pages are for her sons, daughters, grandchildren or anyone who knew my mom because if you ever sat next to her or caught a glimpse of her notorious smirk, you would automatically know she is a part of you. I am not saying you were going to name your next of kin after her, but a piece of her is left with you. Those white blank pages will be written by those who felt her love and those who continue her spirit.
I know as her son, I found the meaning of beauty. Now the word beauty is a word that can be taken advantage of, but my mom taught us the word beauty is felt by the simplest things, such as, enjoying the scent of a rose, appreciating the coolness of a breeze or even enjoying the view of a drive. Mom was never one to stay at the house; she needed to get out whether if it was just to the store or taking a walk to the park. That is why Mom dreaded going to the hospital, because doves are not meant to be caged.
Her biggest love was watching her sons and daughter become fathers and mother. She loved her grandchildren and would not pass up a chance for their care. As Mom enjoyed sports, she loved watching her loved ones play them. Mom would be the loudest one cheering on her grandkids playing football, soccer or basketball.
Mom will be missed and never forgotten as we enjoy the simplest things in life because we know she is in our hearts and souls.
