

Born November 9, 1935, in San Miguel de Horcasitas, Sonora, Mexico, to Santiago Valenzuela Paredes and María de Jesús Landavazo.
Maria was raised alongside her sister Soledad Paredes and brother Santiago Paredes Jr. (Wife Mary Paredes).
At age 15, determined to learn English and complete her education, she migrated to California.
Four years later, at 19, she settled in Houston, where she raised her two sons, Vincent Gonzales Jr. (wife Rachel Cevallos de Gonzales) and Rudolph Gonzales (wife Sandra Gonzales).
For more than 30 years, Maria worked in the nuclear medicine department at Methodist Hospital, eventually earning recognition as Employee of the Year for her dedication and compassion.
Known for her kindness, she served as a trusted translator for Spanish-speaking patients, ensuring they received the care and understanding they deserved—a value she instilled in her family.
Maria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her brother Santigo Paredes Jr. (Wife Mary
Paredes ), her sister Soledad Paredes, Her sons Vincent Gonzales Jr. (Wife Rachel Cevallos Gonzales), Rudolph Gonzales ( Wife Sandra Gonzales).
She is survived by her granddaughters: Jacinda Lopez (husband Steven Lopez), Amanda Pallanez (husband Johnny Pallanez Jr.), Ashley Gallardo (husband Danny Gallardo), Brittany Aguilar (husband Diego Aguilar), and Adriana Jackson (husband Jarrick Jackson).
She is survived by her greatgrandchildren: Jayden Ontiveros, Jacob Pallanez, Madison Lopez, Joshua Lopez, Presley Pallanez, Ryan Gallardo, Everly Pallanez, Noah Gallardo, Carley Pallanez, and Camila Aguilar., and many Nephews and Nieces.
A woman rooted deeply in her faith; Maria lived a rich and purposeful life. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, service, and devotion will live on through generations. As she was quoted on her 88th birthday, her secret to a long life is to “work hard and care for people”.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, located at 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, TX 77003, on November 18, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will take place at the same location on November 18, 2025, at 7:00 pm.
Another Visitation will occur at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo on November 19, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by a Chapel Service at 10:00 am.
The Committal Service is scheduled for November 19, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Rosewood Memorial Park, located at 2602 S Houston Ave, Humble, TX 77396.
