

Marian Vetters Meyer was born on July 30, 1930 to George and Delia Vetters. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She was a 1948 graduate of Milby High School and attended Rice University before her marriage to John Henry Meyer (Johnny) on August 20, 1949. She was a lifetime Lutheran. Marian is survived by three beloved daughters and their husbands: Kathryn Booth (Frank) of Houston, TX, Janet Horn (Scott) of Alvin, TX, and Linda Meyer (Alan) of Houston, TX: grandchildren: Amelia Patton of Natick, MA, Cameron Booth of Buffalo, NY, Tyler Horn of Houston, TX and Aubrey Horn of Houston, TX: great grandchildren Archer Patton and Hunter Patton.
Marian was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She was the undisputed matriarch of her home, and raised her daughters to be likewise independent and confident. While Johnny served in the Navy, Marian became an expert bridge player, often hosting bridge events at her home through the years. Marian, like her mother before her, was an avid bowler, carrying a 132 average just weeks before her passing. Marian has now joined her departed friends and family whom she has greatly missed.
Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 6-8PM on Monday, April 6th at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Fwy., Houston, TX 77039. Private interment by family in Brookside Memorial Park the morning of Tuesday, April 7th. Memorial services will be held at 1:00PM Tuesday, April 7th at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 5315 Main St., Houston, TX 77004. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
