Marlin Dual Daniels

Mr. Marlin Dual Daniels, Sr., age 79, passed away peacefully at his home, Sunday, July 23, 2023 in Houston, Texas. He was born April 10, 1944 in Greenville, Texas. Marlin attended and graduated from St. Paul High School in Greenville, Texas.

Marlin spent his work years as a sales representative for major companies while based in Dallas and Houston, Texas throughout his successful career. Marlin met and married Joan Gwendolyn Vassel in Dallas, Texas. They went on to raise three children, and three pets, April, Joey and, and leaves behind, his favorite Ms. Pinkey.

Marlin is survived by his wife Joan G. Vassel Daniels, (his caretaker), and 2 children: Shirye’ Yvette Daniels-Byrd and husband Keith Dicks, Marlin Dual Daniels, Jr., and wife Cara.

He is survived by his grandsons; Francois Xavier Vassel-Byrd, and wife Gabrielle, Jean-Pierre Alexander Vassel-Byrd and Nina Roberson, Blake Alexander Daniels and wife Amberly, great grandsons; Marc-Anthony Vassel-Stephens, Jordan Vassel-Byrd, Reiley Roberson, and Rodney Roberson-Byrd, great granddaughters; Chloe Vassel-Byrd, and Rosella “Rose” Roberson-Byrd and also one great-great gandson, Kohan Wester.

He is predeceased by his daughter Margeaux L. Daniels and granddaughter Ashley Alexander Vassel-Stephens.

A visitation for Marlin will be held Monday, July 31, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A rosary service will occur Monday, July 31, 2023 at 6:00 PM, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 10:30 AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, TX 77079. A committal service will occur Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
