

With deep love and gratitude the family of Martha G. Mejia announces her peaceful transition on February 26, 2026 at the age of 69. Born on March 10, 1956, In Tela Atlantida, Honduras to Sebastian Guity and Ofelia Guity, Martha was one of 8 children. Siblings: Clara, Roberto, Marco, Luis, Juan Ramon, Sandra, Xiomara. Martha attended school in Tela, Honduras.
Martha lived a life defined by community service, perseverance and a steadfast commitment to creating opportunities for others.
A proud immigrant to the United States Martha first arrives in New York City, NY shortly after the Civil Rights Movement in the early 1970s.
Motivated by a desire to provide others better opportunities she played key roles in assisting family members, friends, neighbors and others in migrating to the U.S. and further assisting them in obtaining their residencies.
Martha is survived by her children: Kelvin Guity and Gisselle G. Zapata. She took immense pride in her family and celebrated their achievements throughout her life.
Martha’s legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren:
Evan Lalin, Kaylin Lalin, Robbie Alexander Zapata, Brooklynn Elaine Guity, Sebastian Mason Guity.
Each child brought joy, laughter and renewed purpose to her life.
Martha’s life was a testament to hard work, dedication and integrity. The stories she shared, the wisdom she offered and the help she provided, and the dance moves she showed us will continue to motivate all who knew her and continue to live in our hearts.
Though she has completed her earthly journey Martha leaves behind a powerful legacy. Her memory will forever remain as a source of pride, strength and inspiration.
A celebration of life will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038, US on March 14, 2026, from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm.
