

MARY ANN PALERMO, 79, a strong, dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandnother, entered eternal life on November 21, 2013, joining her beloved husband, Anthony John Palermo, who preceded her in death. She was born to the late Domenico and Lula Salvato Parrino, in Highbank, TX, on April 11, 1934. Mary Ann was also preceded in death by her sisters Frances Spedale and Fena Parrino, and brothers-in-law Joe Spedale and Luke Palermo. Mary Ann will live on forever in our hearts, and will be dearly missed by her children, Darlene Dichero and husband Joe, Anthony Joseph Palermo and wife Debbie, Dominick Palermo and wife Linda; grandchildren Vincent A. Romeo (Lindsey), Suzanne Massiatte (Danny), Shalana Varon (Galen), Mechele Horger (James), Anthony Roy, David, and Rebecca Palermo, Alan Palermo (Tina), Melinda Welfel (John), Dominic Palermo, and Tiffani Gallatin (Colin), 19 great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Alexis, Ashley and Alison Horger, Mason, Summer and Gabriel Massiatte; Joshua, Nathan, Zachary and Grace Varon; Travis, Abigail and Madelyn Welfel; Cameron Palermo; Stella and Lucas Romeo; Brady and Morgan Palermo, 2 step-grandchildren, and 5 step-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Antoinette Palermo Guzzetta and Caroline Cook, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many life-long friends.
Born a native Texan, Mary Ann moved to Detroit at the age of 9, where her eyes were opened to the riches of big city life. At age 16, she came to Houston to visit her sister for the summer, met the love of her life, and never went back. She had a very beautiful and loving marriage and will be so happy to be reunited with her husband of 57 years. She worked side by side with him in the several different businesses they owned, and had missed him greatly since he passed away. Aside from her husband, her family was her greatest love and in the later years she especially enjoyed her great-grandchildren. Mary Ann was a long time member of St Rose of Lima Catholic Church, serving in various ministries, and as Chairman of the Bazaar on several occasions, and was also a member of Ladies of Sacred Heart Society, and Ladies of Unico.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, November 24, 2013 from 4 to 7 pm, with a Rosary at 6 pm led by the Ladies of the Sacred Heart Society in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Director, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 10 am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman Street, Houston TX 77018, with Fr. Clint Ressler officiating. Graveside services to follow at Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, TX 77060. Serving as Pallbearers are Vincent Romeo, Alan Palermo, Anthony Roy Palermo, David Palermo, Dominic Palermo and Danny Massiatte; honorary Pallbearers are Galen Varon, James Horger, John Welfel, and Colin Gallatin.
