Mary W. Boer

Mary Jane Watson Boer passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020. Mary was born on July 19, 1924 in Alexandria, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her mother Mary May Evans, father John Watson, her sister Laverne Eaton, her daughter Dinah Perret and her husband, Pieter Boer. She is survived by her sons Joseph and Eric Boer, grandchildren: Todd Perret, Elissa and Peter Boer, Katie and Samuel Boer as well as great-grandchildren: Solomon, Hailey, Owen Burns and Camille Perret and numerous wonderful friends she made over her many decades of life.

Mary had a zest for life, loved being outdoors in the sunshine and spent many years exploring the beaches of West Galveston Island where she truly was at peace with her life. Mary was an accomplished artist and painted numerous amazing oil and watercolor paintings. Many of her friends and family are fortunate to have her artwork adorn the walls of their homes to this day.

Mary had many amazing friends over the years and was fortunate to have a special friendship with Teresa Fuentes who visited and comforted her until her last days. Mary’s last years were spent comfortably under the care of Daniela Vancia and her amazing staff at Houston Extended Care.
