Mary Nell Dement

It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and grandmother, A woman who's strength,warmth and spirit touched every life she encountered. She left this world on November 26th 2025. 

A true nurturer at heart she found joy in the simple but meaningful things.Tending to her garden where every flower seemed to bloom just a little brighter under her care, spending her quiet moments with a good book or her crochet hooks creating blankets that will forever wrap us in her love. She loved to go places never shying away from an adventure always ready to see something new or take a trip with those she loved.  She worked tirelessly to provide for her children giving them not only what they needed but also a sense of security, determination and resilience. Her devotion to her grandchildren was boundless they were the light of her life and she never missed a chance to spoil them with affection, wisdom and her signature spunk. And oh, she was feisty, she had a spark that made her unforgettable a fierce independence and a sharp wit. A fire that kept her standing strong through every challenge. She spoke her mind, loved with her whole heart and faced life head on with courage. 

Though our hearts ache with the loss, we take comfort in knowing that her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped, the lessons she taught and the love she gave so freely. Her hands may now be at rest, but the things she planted both In our hearts and on her land will continue to grow. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul Lee Dement, sons, John Paul Dement, and Michael Wayne Dement; parents, Jack and Frances Stockstill; brother Jimmy Stockstill; sister, Jackie Stockstill; nephew, Tommy Stockstill; son-in-law, Jimbo Phillips.

Mary is survived by her children, Paula Dement Free (Jeremy Hoffart), Cherl Dement Ochoa, Billy Dement (April Goodwin), James Dement (Jessica Otts), and Tina Dement Foster (Odes Foster); grandchildren Patricia Sherman, John Collins, Christopher Free, Cody Free, Ashley Ducote, James Phillip's, Wyatt, Grace, Summer, Cheyenne Dement, Karli, Carrianna Garrett, Heather Dement, Dillion, Norma, Nicolas, Jesse Dement, Justin Dement, Jordan Dement, Kayle Foster, Brooklynn, Baylee and Daisy; along with numerous great grandchildren.
