Mary E. Drake

Mary Evelyn Ragland Drake was born on September 25, 1937, in Texarkana, Texas, to Floy and Charles Ragland. Mary spent her later years as a resident of The Bradford at Brookside in Livingston, Texas.

Mary enjoyed getting lost in a good mystery or romance novel, watching classic movies, and spending time surrounded by family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved daughter, Kathleen Ann Goerner, whose loss she carried close to her heart; her brother, Richard Lambert, Sr.; and her nephews, Richard Lambert, Jr. & Robert (Bobby) Thames.

Mary is survived by her loving family: her children, John David Drake (Sheila) of Kingwood and Amy Carlisle Freehling (Mark) of Livingston; her son-in-law, Stephen Goerner; her grandchildren, Stacey Chism (Jason), Heather Harvey (Jacob), Brittany Lumpkin (Jake), Michael Lumpkin, and McKenzie Freehling (Garrett); her great-grandchildren Zachary (Anna), Jake, Logan, Addison, Jasmine, Aurora, and Anastasia; her sisters-in-law, Joan Eccles (San Antonio) and Dorothy Lambert (Cleveland); her brother-in-law, Robert Thames (Midland); her beloved cousins, Thomas Ray Daigle (Barbara) and Mary Louise Thurman (Mike) as well as a host of nieces & nephews.

Mary’s family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, resting in eternal love.

A visitation will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Chapel of Eternal Peace Funeral Home, 2454 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, Texas, 77077.

A Graveside service will follow at 1 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, located at 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, Texas, 77077.
