In the early 1900's, She moved to Houston and settled in the Heights area. She was married to Stanley (Stash) Gorney for 65 years. She was a mother to four children and a housewife for many years before joining Gulf Printing Company in the bindery department for 20 years. When she retired, she traveled with her husband and pursued arts & crafts, a hobby that kept her busy. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and Alter Society for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley and one grandson Sammy Wade Marett. She is survived by one sister, Betty Menges, her four children, Barbara Dawson, Stanley Gorney Jr., Regina Marett and Sherry Ellis; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and ten great great-grandchildren. She was blessed with a long and fruitful life.
