

Mary Martha McLean, age 79 of Richmond, TX passed away from COVID-19 on August 19, 2021. Her family advises all to consider getting vaccinated and wear a mask to protect yourself and others from this devastating and very real disease. Mary was born August 23, 1941, in Honey Grove, TX. She lived in Lubbock for most of her life before moving to the Katy/Richmond area in 2002.
Mary was a Christian strong in her faith and loved the Lord. She loved all animals, especially her own cat Samuel (Sammy). Mary loved taking care of her plants and feeding the birds. She loved to laugh, and shopping was one of her favorite pastimes. Mary was proud that all 3 of her sons served in the United States Military. Even at the age of 79, she is gone from this Earth too soon and will greatly be missed by those who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her father Joseph Willard McDonald, brother Joseph William McDonald, mother Hazel Lee Hodges and husband William Walter McLean Jr. She is survived by her brother Jerry McDonald, daughter and son-in-law Terri and Dennis Bramlett and 3 sons and their spouses: James and Dana Bell, Chris and Diana Wimberly and Jerry and Denise Aaron. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Alicia Ward, Eric Bramlett, Abigail and Eva Aaron and Stella and Ian Wimberly.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to The Wounded Warrior’s Project.
Mary will be buried next to her late husband at Houston National Cemetery.
A visitation for Mary will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at American Heritage Funeral Home.
