Mary "Jo" Josephine Spurr

Jo graduated from Bay City High School in 1962 where she was a talented twirler. She also attended the University of Saint Thomas. She met the love of her life James Spurr, Sr. in high school and they were married on Sept. 24, 1966. Jo loved oil painting, music, boardgames, and classic western T.V. shows. She especially loved her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She retired from Shell Oil in 2010.

She is survived by her husband James Spurr, Sr. of Houston, TX, son James, Jr. and wife Julie of Dallas, TX, daughter Johanna Tamez and husband Manuel of Houston, TX. Grandchildren Gibsen and Lauren Spurr of Dallas, TX, Zachary, James and Thomas Tamez of Houston, TX. Sisters Helen Mata, Sue Zientek, and Isa Vawters, and precious nieces and nephews.

Jo was a devout Catholic and a Parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Houston, TX.
