Mary Ann Tolbert

Mary Ann Tolbert, 88, passed away on April 9, 2013 in Houston, Texas. She was born on November 24, 1924 to Hugh Patrick and Irene Bell O’Neill. She graduated high school from Enid High School in Enid, Oklahoma. In her early years, she was a secretary for Trunkline Gas Company and in 1974 she joined HISD and retired in 2002 after a full career at Scarborough High School. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church since 1960.

She is survived by her Son and daughter in law Joe B. Tolbert, Jr and Susan Tolbert of Caldwell, Texas, two grandsons, Joe B. Tolbert and wife Brittany Tolbert of Cypress, Texas, and John David Tolbert of Caldwell, Texas, twin great grandchildren Layton Parker Tobert, and Landri Joelle Tolbert, and one sister, Francis Hesslink of Riverside, California and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe B. Tolbert, and three sisters and three brothers.

She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and dear friendships with the members of the book club she was a part of.

The family would like to invite everyone to join them for a visitation at Memorial Oaks Funeral home on Thursday, April 11 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4213 Mangum Road, Houston, Texas 77092, on Friday, April 12, 2013, at 10:30am with interment to follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
