Maureen Williams Norwood

Maureen Williams Norwood, went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2011. Her death was due to natural causes. Maureen, along with her twin Maxine, was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Dr. Robert D. and Lillian Madden Williams. Maureen grew up and attended schools in Idabel.

She married Norman Norwood and they had two sons, Norman Robert and Terry Don. When their children were small, she and Norman both entered and graduated from East Central Teachers College in Ada, Oklahoma. She and Norman celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past May.

Her parents, a brother Dr. Woodroe Williams, her twin sister Maxine Burk and a daughter-in-law Andrea Norwood, preceded her in death. Andrea was the mother of Norman Robert's girls. Survivors are her husband, Buford Norman Norwood, sons and their spouses Norman Robert and Karen Norwood and Terry Don and Vicky Norwood. Five grandchildren and their spouses also survived her. They were the love of her life. They are Lauri Lee and Kevin Wiederhold, Juli Andrea and Derek Lester, Kristi Maureen and Brent Caple, Wendy Maureen and Luke Patterson and Terry Brent and Katie Norwood. Also surviving are six great grandchildren: Lindsi and Kelsi Wiederhold, Blake, Brooke and Bailee Lester, Clayton Caple and Luke Patterson, II.

Pallbearers will be Brent Norwood, Kevin Wiederhold, Clayton Caple, Brent Caple, Luke Patterson and Blake Lester.

The family will be present to receive friends for visitation from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Rev. James Hester and Rev. David Kent officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Oaks Cemetery Mausoleum. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Fellowship of Praise Church, 4100 Greenbriar, Suite 250, Stafford, Texas, 77477, Star of Hope or charity of your choice.
