Max grew up in Old Greenwich, Connecticut where he attended Old Greenwich School and Eastern Middle School. When the family moved to Houston in 2012, Max attended Memorial High School where he was a four-year member of the varsity tennis team. He attended Bucknell University for one year before transferring to Boston College where he continued playing tennis and was a proud member of the Boston College Division 1 Men's Tennis Team. He graduated in 2020 with a B.S. in Finance.
Max enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to music, watching movies, and most of all, hanging out with his many friends and his family. He loved to make people laugh with his amazing sense of humor, and his impressions and jokes were legendary.
Max’s smile was contagious, and he brought positive energy and laughter wherever he went. He put his whole self into everything he did, spending countless hours on the tennis court to become a highly ranked USTA junior player, an accomplishment he was very proud of.
Max loved his friends and family with a passion and his empathetic nature meant that he was always there for anyone who needed him, and he will be forever missed by everyone who knew him. The world is a sadder place without Max but the family asks that people remember all of the wonderful memories they made with him. He only lived for 26 years, but he packed a lot of life into that short time.
Max worked as a Senior Portfolio Analyst at CBRE Group, Inc. and taught tennis at The Briar Club in his free time.
He is predeceased by his grandparents, Lawrence and Beverly Crane, and Milton Warshaw, and is survived by his loving parents, Dr. Kenneth and Lynda Palmer of Houston; his beloved brother, Jake and sister-in-law Kate Palmer of Austin, Texas; his grandmother, Maxine Prisyon of Montecito, California; his grandparents, Dr. Martin and Rhoda Palmer of Middletown, New York; his uncles and aunts, James and Tiffany Palmer of Amagansett, New York, Kevin Palmer and Martha Everett of New York City, KC Rose of Granby, Colorado, and Lawrence Crane of Elkins, West Virginia. He is also survived by many cousins.
A celebration of Max's life is to be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 13th of January, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
