Mellie Catherine Lazarine

Mellie Catherine Lazarine, 94, of Houston, Texas went to her heavenly home in the arms of Jesus on October 13, 2022. She was one of nine children born to Preston amd Ada Simmons, on February 25, 1928 in Newton, Texas.

She is survived by son, Gene and wife Debbie; grandsons, Daniel and wife Susan, David, and Joseph and wife Tara; great grandsons, Elliott and William; great granddaughters, McKinley and Everleigh; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Henry; sisters, Lula, Oscalene, Irene, Maxine, and her twin Madie; and brothers, Herman, Otis, and Brit.

Mellie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a librarian for H.I.S.D. and she was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church. The family wanted to give a special thanks to Meals on Wheels (Thelma), Hospice Plus (Tanya), and the doctors and staff at Kelsey Seybold (Dr. Williamson), and St. Luke's Hospital.

A visitation for Mellie will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Pat H. Foley & Company, 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, TX 77018. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM, 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, TX 77018. A committal service will occur Friday, October 21, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
