

Michael, the youngest son of Dominick Peter Carbone and Alta Lorene McCormack, was born in Houston, on the 26th of February1950. He made his childhood memories and some of his best friends in Pearland, however planted his long-term roots with his family and business in Houston.
Solicited or not, Mike would tell you the decades long history of a plot of land and would never shy away from a good debate. He took an interest in ad valorem tax consulting in his early twenties eventually becoming a partner and co-owner of Harding & Carbone. Throughout his lengthy and accomplished career, he established many lifelong friendships with his colleagues, fellow employees and his clients, most of whom he kept post retirement.
Mike had a philanthropic spirit and contributed to many organizations.Some closest to his heart included:the Muscular Dystrophy Association in remembrance of his father who passed away of ALS and the Susan G. Komen organization in remembrance of his beloved mother and his Aunt Margie.
He was selfless beyond compare, a friend to so many especially in times of need without judgment. Anyone who was fortunate enough to meet Mike called him a friend.He had long term friendships from his childhood, travels, career and through his daughters. All that knew him could testify that his quick wit was not only infectious but also timely.
He relished in his world travels and always had an appreciation of other cultures and the beauty of other countries which he loved to share with his family. Of all his adventures, Africa was his favorite to explore with its various cultures, vast lands and wildlife; each leaving him awe stricken and yearning to always return. While state side he loved reading suspense thrillers and history and he was an avid follower of current politics and Houston sports.
Of all his loves that he cherished and protected was his unwavering love and adoration for his three daughters, Gabriela Carbone, Cecilia Michelle Carbone and Marcela Lorene Carbone; and by the one that truly stole his heart nine years ago, his granddaughter, Isabella Nova Carbone. Mike is preceded in death by his parents and his late brother Don Carbone.
His daughters will be hosting a celebration of life from five o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening on Friday, the 6th of July, in the grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, to toast to all the great memories.
