Michael Kurt Cunningham

September 2, 1957 – February 18, 2010

Michael K. Cunningham, born September 2, 1957, deceased February 18, 2010. The third of three children born to William James Cunningham Jr. and Ingaborg Cunningham. Siblings are William James Cunningham II and Cheryl Renea Cunningham.

Michael was born in Detroit, Michigan and as a young boy lived in Saginaw, Warren and Chicago, Illinois before moving to Houston, Texas in 1972 where the Cunninghams made their permanent home.

He graduated Stratford High School in Houston, Texas and went on to achieve his Second Grade Stationary Engineer license working at Western Geophysical.

In addition, he was certified as an Extermination Technician and worked with his father at one of the family-owned businesses, Allied Exterminators.

While in Houston, Michael met his wife, Elizabeth Cannady Cunningham, and together they have a beautiful daughter, Shawna Merl Cunningham.

In Houston, he made many friends, including John Pisarski. John was a dear friend to Michael, who occasionally worked for John at his privately owned construction company. While working for John, Michael met and developed a lasting friendship with Thomas Yarbrough.

Michael also leaves behind a nephew, William James Cunningham III, who was raised by Michael’s parents and was like a brother to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ingaborg Cunningham and William James Cunningham Jr., and his older brother, William James Cunningham II.

Michael will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010 at Trinity Tabernacle, 239 Allred Mill Road, Jasper, Ga. 30143.
