

Michael Wayne Rochon, Sr., departed this life on February 28, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on December 16, 1957, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Michael was the beloved son Robert Perryman, Sr. and Lou Anna Joseph.
Michael was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School in Dallas,TX, where he completed his education in May 1976. Shortly thereafter, he joined the United States Army in June 1976, demonstrating his commitment to serving his country. After his honorable service, he pursued his passion for healthcare, graduating from St. Phillips College in San Antonio in December 1981, and becoming a dedicated nurse in May 1982.
He is survived by his cherished children and grandchildren, Michael W. Rochon, Jr., Jamae Hawkins (Laws), Robert Malone, and Madalyn Hawkins, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Michael was also a loving sibling, leaving behind his sisters and brothers: Devna Denise (Joseph) Culpepper, Shielavonne (Joseph) Harris, Connie Marie (Fuselier) Thomas, Cecil Darnell Reed Jr., Frances (Mary Sue) Blackshear of Houston, Texas, David Perryman of Dallas, Texas, Jovanna (Glen) Wright of Los Angeles, California, Oscar (Altha) Green of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Vicky Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona, Frieda (Kerry) Rigmaiden of Mossville, Louisiana, Colonel Robert (Melissa) Perryman, Jr. of Houston, Texas, Marilyn (Sonny) Combo of Phoenix, Arizona, and Judge Shannon (Edwin) Holmes of Detroit, Michigan.
Michael was also a proud uncle to 22 nieces and nephews and a loving great-uncle to 10 great-nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss his warmth and guidance.
Michael Wayne Rochon, Sr. will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, dedication to his family, and his compassionate care for others. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared. As we bid farewell, we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace.
A visitation for Michael will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A graveside will occur Friday, March 7, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, Texas 77038.
