Michael was born and raised in New Jersey and graduated from Seton Hall University. He went to work in the scrap metal industry and made his way to Houston. He met Randy on a blind date, and they were married three months later. They celebrated their forty-seventh anniversary in September, 2024. Michael was an avid birder, voracious reader, and accomplished cook who never stopped learning.
He's survived by his wife Randy, daughter Jennifer Lindauer and wife Shannon. He is also survived by his crazy cat, Bubba. The family wishes to give a special thanks to his wonderful caretakers, Michelle, Sola, and Jessica.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents George and Eleanor Schell, and his brother Richard. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws Foye Stuttig and Bill Burklin. Michael was a kind and fair man, and he will be missed. If desired, donations to Houston Audubon will be appreciated.
There will be a celebration of life announced at a later date.
