Michael James Shinskie, 40, died at home in Dallas, Texas on January 27, 2020. Mike was born in Bryan, Texas and moved to Houston as a child. Mike attended Northwest Academy High School, where he played varsity sports, including football, basketball, and baseball. His passion for sports continued throughout his life.
Following the tragedy of 911, Mike enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a Naval Aviation rescue swimmer. After his service in the Navy, Mike received his B.A., Cum Laude, in Political Science from the University of Houston and his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree (J.D.) from South Texas College of Law. At the time of his death, Mike was a legal Contract Manager in the Rail Division of Trinity Industries in Dallas.
Mike is survived by his wife, Trang Palmer; his mother and stepfather, David and Peggy Tinkey; his sister Katherine Tinkey and his brother-in-law Chris Daniels; his father Edward Shinskie Jr.; his maternal grandparents Gale and Marilyn Taylor; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
