

On the evening of February 24th, Michael (Mike to his friends) unexpectedly passed away in Pensacola, Florida where he lived and worked. He was 48 years old. Michael is a native Texan born in Pasadena on August 16th, 1967 to John and Linda Skaggs.
He served in the Navy medical corps as a 2nd Class Petty Officer Surgical Tech with the 2nd Marines in 1990/1991 served during Operation Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia/Kuwait at a front line Marine field surgical hospital. After the war, he was assigned to Pensacola Florida Naval Hospital. After leaving the Navy, he stayed in Pensacola and worked the rest of his career in the medical field.
Michael leaves behind his wife Nancy; daughter Tracy Cogburn and her husband Brandon, grandson Bryson Cogburn and granddaughter Addison Cogburn (just born); mother Linda Skaggs; father John Skaggs; sister Diana Skaggs Herthneck, her husband J.D. Herthneck and niece Evan Herthneck, along with many other family members and friends.
Funeral services and interment will take place Wednesday, March 9th at 2:15pm at Houston National Cemetery with graveside Military Honors Ceremony.
