Mikeal Earl Gilbert passed away peacefully with his children and parents by his side on January 22, 2012, after a courageous year long battle with cancer. He was born in Houston on June 15, 1964 to Johnny and Dorothy Gilbert of Dime Box, Texas.
He was a Maintenance Foreman for several years for Specialty Heat Treat. His favorite pastime was fishing with his family at his parent's property.
Mikeal was everything to everybody, a loving son, a caring brother, a wonderful father, a devoted grandfather and a trusting friend.
Those left behind to cherish his memories are his parents Johnny and Dorothy Gilbert, his brother Tommy Gilbert and wife Brenda, his sisters Billie Risco and husband Rolando, Karen Lopez and husband Eddie, Joetta Tilton and husband Dwayne, his children Leona Jusaino and husband Adam, Jeana Gilbert and Mikeal Gilbert Jr., his grandchildren Hailee, Layla, Tyler and John, several nieces and nephews, other family, many friends and colleagues.
The family would like say a special thank you to Tom and Mary Moore and family for their love and support.
A memorial service will be held on February 2, 2012 at 10:00 am at Brookside Funeral Home 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
