

Lillian "Mimi" Duplantis Eschete Romano, age 83, passed away peacefully at Houston Hospice on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Lillian was born December 30, 1930 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Isaie Paul Duplantis and Odelia Duplantis. She spent most of her youth in Houma and Montegut, Louisiana. Mimi was a graduate of Terrebonne High School in Houma, Louisiana. She earned a Licensed Practical Nurse certificate in 1949 from Hotel Dieu, New Orleans, Louisiana. She worked at Foley's and then Macy's in women's apparel until her retirement.
She is survived by her husband Albert C Romano of Sugar Land, Texas; three daughters, Minette Feather and husband Russell, Melanie Duryea, and Mary Bell and husband Wayne; son, Clay Eschete and wife Annie; stepson, Paul Romano and wife Laura; 15 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She is also survived by one brother, Paul R. Duplantis of Houma, Louisiana.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Isaie Duplantis and Odelia Duplantis; her first husband and father of her children, Clayton J. Eschete; son-in-law, Paul W. Hargrave; two grandchildren, Jason Duryea and Mindy Duryea; four sisters, Mercedes "Mert" Ellzey, Gladys Black, Mae LeBlanc, and Nolia Duplantis.
