

Mitsuo “Roy” Fujimoto, of Houston, Texas, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010. He was born in Longmont, Colorado, December 28, 1926 to Tadao and Tsuya Fujimoto. Mitsuo grew up as a farmer, was drafted into the United States Army in 1950 and served as a Sergeant during the Korean War. After leaving the Army, he continued farming in Texas. Afterwards, he started his career with the Harris County Flood Control, which he served 22 years, before retiring as an Assistant Superintendent. Mitsuo was an avid outdoor adventurer with a passion for fishing. He enjoyed coaching his children while they played softball and baseball; as well as spending as much time as he could with all his grandchildren, who he loved dearly. Mitsuo is survived by his wife of 48 yrs, Masako; his daughter, Kumeko and husband Steve, and three sons: Akio and wife Susan, Tabo and wife Tanya, and Mits and wife Carmen; his grandchildren: Haley¸ Kenneth, Hideo, Kayla, Zen¸ Nathan, Cara, and Bree; brothers: George and wife Mary; Harley, Willie and wife Yoshiko; sisters: Marie and Doris; and many nephews and nieces. The viewing is scheduled for Friday, February 19, 2010 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, followed by the Celebration of Life service on Saturday¸ February 20, 2010 at 12:30 PM. Interment will be in Brookside Memorial Park.
