Monique Evitria Powell, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and aunt was taken from us on June 16, 2010. A native Houstonian, Monique graduated from Lamar High School. She lettered in track and field and was a member of the “Lightning” track club. Monique was a very outgoing young lady; a devoted mother and a beautiful person inside and out. Monique is preceded in death by her father Melvin Earl Powell; brother, Donald Ray Guzman; grandmother’s, Ninfa R. Guzman and Linda Bell. Her surviving relatives include daughter, Melayia Lemay; mother, Linda Guzman; sister, Courtney Powell; niece, Pashun Guzman; 8 Aunts; 6 Uncles and a host of cousins, friends and other relatives.
