Monte Ray Floyd, 74, passed away on December 9, 2025. Born on June 19, 1951, Monte was a resident of Montgomery county and lived a life marked by resilience, creativity, and a quiet but profound generous spirit.
Early in life, he faced injuries that altered his original career path, but with characteristic determination he forged a new direction. He built a successful life through self-employment as a landlord, applying the same resourcefulness and steady work ethic that defined him in all he did.
He was known for his love of woodworking, building and repairing things, all skills in which he found both joy and expression. His creative sense of ingenuity showed in the things he built and the solutions he devised. He often surprised others with his subtle, but brilliant wit. His humor was never loud or showy, but perfectly timed, clever, and unmistakably his.
His kindness always extended beyond his immediate circle. He had a thoughtful nature, always ready to lend a hand and offer support. His gentle acts of care left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Floyd, with whom he shared many years of partnership and family. He is survived by his daughters, Heather (Andrew Cray) and Kimberly (Chris Talbut), stepson, Richard Wenckens and by his cherished grandchildren Olivia, Lance, and Michael, who brought him immense pride and happiness.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his inventive mind, his thoughtful and generous heart, and the legacy of love, humor, and resilience he leaves behind.
