Morgan Eugene Parrish

He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and John T. Parrish, sister, Sherry Reed, brother, Tommy Parrish, son, David Parrish, 2 great nephews and one great niece.

Morgan is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of 63 years, son, Brian (Peewee), daughter-in-law, Jessica, granddaughter, Zoie and grandson, Brian, Jr. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He attended Sam Houston High School for 11 years, then joined the U.S. Navy until 1962. He took classes at several colleges, IBEW electrical classes, and taught at IBEW electrical apprenticeship school. He worked for several electrical companies, City of Houston electrical inspector before getting his master electrical license and owning his own company, Gene Parrish Electrical for 40+ years before retiring because of health reasons.

He enjoyed his antique cars and restoring them when time permitted. He was a member of Piney Wood Model A Club and Greater Houston Model A Club. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Shriner’s even though time didn’t permit participating often.

Morgan will be missed by many who enjoyed his interesting tales and he was always ready to tell a few.

Serving as pallbearers are Shane Rutherford, Brian (PeeWee) Parrish, Sr., James Ladd, Bill Stout, Kelley Hunter, and Travis King. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Brent Noble, Jr Sandusky, and Billy Hielscher. As well as George Ross, Ronnie Crandall, Doyle Holder, Gene McCormick, and many other friends who are in Heaven just waiting to enjoy his many stories again.

We are quite sure George Ross, Gene and many other antique car owners are already spinning tall tales in their Heavenly Home.

The family appreciates the many offers to help in any way possible. It is wonderful to have so many true friends that really care.

A visitation for Morgan will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A committal service will occur Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
