

2019 in Houston, Texas at the age of 90. She was
born December 26, 1928 to Wilson and Mary Smith
in Slaughters, La. She later relocated to New
Orleans, La. where she became a lifelong resident.
There she attended beauty school and worked as a
Chef/caterer, as well as a healthcare provider. She
was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church under
Dr. Lawrence E. Lamdrum for 20 years. She was
later introduced to Elder Dr. Benson Magee who she
believed was a true man of God. She then joined
House of Faith C.O.G.I.C, where she faithfully
served as the president of the Pastor’s Aid
Auxiliary, Sunday school teacher, and on the
Mother’s Board. She remained under Elder Dr.
Benson Magee’s leadership until her departure from
this life. Ms. Lillian was a devoted mother and
grandmother. She is preceded in death by her
Mother Mary Smith and father Wilson Smith, her
eight siblings and great granddaughter Myrecle
Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory her three
children Dereke Smith, Michelle (Thomas Sr.)Ratliff,
and Rochelle Smith. She also leaves to cherish her
memory her eight grandchildren Christopher
(Kenyetta) Smith, Lakeisha (Teryl) Smith, Jowan
(Nia) Smith, Jovan Smith, Thomas (Alicia) Ratliff Jr.
Jarmone Smith, Arione Ratliff, Nijhwa Smith, fifteen
great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and
nephews, family, friends, and church members.
