Margie, age 61, surrendered this earthly life to the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 31, 2016. She was born to the late Rubbie Lee Wilson on May 28, 1955 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Margie attended Grammar High School in Shreveport before moving to Houston, Texas, where she resided for more than 30 years until her "homegoing." She was baptized at an early age and was unwavering in her faith for the Lord. Margie’s greatest joy was being a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; to say the least, her family and friends were indeed her passion and delight. For more than 20 years, she worked untiringly in the Home Healthcare Profession, where providing quality skilled care to the disabled, sick, and aging were her notable assets. As a strong advocate in the field of social services, she always pursued necessary governmental agencies to ensure the welfare and sound livelihood of her clients. She loved to host, entertain and frequently had family cookouts at her home. Equally she loved her pet dog "Lady"; in fact, anybody who visited her home quickly loved "Lady" as well because she was a beautiful dog, certainly represented her namesake, and perhaps more importantly had Margie’s temperament and classic style. Also, most would agree that Margie’s impeccable talent was decorating her home; on any given visit, one would observe that she had reordered her furniture in spaces unimaginable, and everything was always in its proper place. Whenever the weather would allow, she loved being outdoors; even during her days of failing health, Margie insisted on taking her daily walks to the neighborhood store with "Lady" and her "oxygen companion," whom she fondly referred to as her "boyfriend on wheels". No matter how badly she felt, she managed to see the blessing in everything, accept God’s Will, and was always of a forgiving spirit! Margie is predeceased also by her son, Michael; father and grandparents; and sisters, Brenda Wilson and Katherine Jones. Left to cherish her memories are: daughter, Carolyn Wilson-Ballard (son-in-law Billy Ballard) and son, Trovon Wilson; granddaughters, Tikerra Wilson and Destani Wilson; great grandson, Cayden Wilson-Ballard; sisters - Ida Edwards from Shreveport, Dr. Clara Wilson-Cook from New Orleans (Charles), Earnestine Wilson, Janice Michelle Jackson and Vanessa Wilson (Gerald); brothers - Andrew Wilson, Melvin Wilson and Kenneth Wilson; step sisters and brothers Lisa Robertson, Turvis Bryant, Jr., Craig Bryant and Doug Bryant. She also leaves to mourn a host of loving relatives and friends.
