Ms. Nora Chase

On May 10, 1953, in Crockett, Texas, Nora Chase was born to the late Cooney Murphy and Tenolia Chase. As a child she loved laughing, learning, and serving the Lord and others. Her passion for a close relationship with the Lord begun at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Houston, Texas.

Nora was the third of five children: Solita Buchanan, Edward Mack Chase, Gwen Chase, and Cynthia Chase. Nora was very book smart and obtained her high school education from Wheatley High School. She worked as a file clerk at a local hospital. But she took great pride in raising her kids in a God-fearing environment. She was always patient, pleasant, and content – no matter what the situation – she always found a reason to smile and laugh.

Nora was the mother of four children: Carletta Chase Akin, Leviticus Chase, Carla Chase, and Levetta Chase. She had 11 grandchildren: JaCarie, Christian, Gincia, DeVonate, Daijah, Isaiah, Angela, Carletta, Alexis, Nicholas, and Gia. She enjoyed being close to family members including a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews and friends.

Nora transitioned to be with the Lord on February 28, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Solita Buchanan, and her daughter Carletta Chase Akins. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
