

Nathan Warren Smith 1979-2015 Nathan Warren Smith, 36, passed away on November 21, 2015 in Houston, Texas. The son of Peter Lawton Smith and Jeannine Hurst Smith-Rodriguez. Nathan was born on August 18, 1979 at the Women's Hospital, in Houston, Texas. He attended Waltrip High School and Houston Community College. Nathan worked for EarthColor Printing for six years as a pressman and then later pursued a career as an auto mechanic.Nathan's is survived by his Father, Peter Lawton Smith and Stepmother Billie Mae Bynum of Palestine, Texas; Mother, Jeannine Hurst Smith-Rodriguez and Stepfather Carlos Diaz Rodriguez of Houston, Texas; Older Brother Kevin Leon Smith and Sister in-Law Jennifer Louise Smith and his nephews Jordan Brian Smith, Austin Allen Smith, and Matthew Tyler Smith all of Cypress, Texas; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Nathan is also survived by his companion Crystal Sue Williams and family as well as his long time childhood friend Joshua Rose. Nathan is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leon Bryant Smith and wife Billie Frances Smith of Houston Texas and Fred Warren Hurst and wife Irene Schavrada Hurst of Houston, Texas. Nathan was a humble man with a very loving and giving heart. He was a gentle person who truly was only concerned with his family and close friends as these were his most prized possessions. He loved to laugh and to be around the people that were important to him. He never judged anyone and tried to see the good in everyone. He loved nature and fishing as well as animals. He would always bring home a sick animal and nurse it back to health. Nathan was also a Christian man that became closer to God as he matured in age. The best way to describe Nathan is just exactly what his Christian name means: Gods Loving Child. Visitation and Funeral service will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 6:00PM-8:00PM and again on Monday, November 30th, 2015 from 9:00AM – 12:00PM followed by a Graveside Service at 1:00PM, with Pastor Rick Shrader of Tri-County Baptist Church officiating the service and eulogy. A reception will be held at the Brookside Reception Center following the Graveside Service.The family would like to express its gratitude to all Nathan's family and friends for their support during his illness and for the compassionate care received at West Houston Medical Center in Houston Texas.
