

Neal Bruce Anderson passed away on Thursday, the 1st of August 2024, in Houston. He was born in Los Angeles, California, on the 25th of May 1952, to Bruce and Jacqueline White Anderson. Neal spent his childhood growing up in Casper, Wyoming and Denver, Colorado until the Anderson family set their roots in Houston in 1965. He graduated from The Kinkaid School in 1970 and went on to undergrad at the University of Texas where he made lifelong friends as a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Upon graduation in 1975, he proudly served in the Texas Air Guard and Army Reserve for 6 years before starting work in the family business as a landman while attending law school. Neal graduated from South Texas College of Law with his J.D. in 1981 and spent his career as General Counsel for Anderson Oil until his passing.
Preceded in death by his father Bruce in 2001, Neal is survived by his mother Jacqueline White Anderson; the love of his life, wife, Elaine Minor Anderson; their daughters and husbands, Katherine Maxson Bosman and husband Paul, Amanda Maxson Armbruster and husband Ryan, Mallory Maxson Carew and husband Kendall; adored grandchildren, Emory and Berkeley Bosman, Max and Annie Armbruster, CeCe and Brock Carew; and siblings, sister, Karen Martin and husband Harlan; brothers, Craig Anderson and wife Nancy, Scott Anderson and wife Diana, Kevin Anderson and wife Sherri; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Neal will be remembered as a devoted & loving husband, son, brother, a dedicated stepfather & “Papa," faithful University of Texas football fan & special friend to many.
Friends are cordially invited to a celebration of Neal’s life from four o’clock in the afternoon until six o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 22nd of August at the River Oaks Country Club, 1600 River Oaks Boulevard in Houston.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed to the 100 Club, 6919 Portwest Drive Suite 150, Houston, TX 77024; or to a charity of one’s choice.
