Nellie Ruth Bishop Reagan

Nellie Ruth Bishop Reagan was born January 18, 1912 in Robertson County, TX and entered her eternal home February 8, 2012. She married Alex Reagan 9-24-30 and celebrated 72 years of marriage before Alex’s death in 2003. She is preceded in death by parents, Hines and Imogene Bishop; husband Alex; brothers Robbie, Milton (Buck) and Marion Bishop; sisters Lucille Singleton and Frances Porter; grandchildren Dan, Chelette and Nancy Reagan; sons-in-law Don Carwile and Dudley Phifer. Nellie is survived by children: Ronald W. (Bill) Reagan and wife Ruth; Frances Jean Reagan Carwile; Dwight Reagan and wife Lila; Rebecca Reagan Phifer Middleton and husband Charles; Joyce Reagan Bell and husband Clyde; sister Bessie Bishop Perry; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. Nellie was a faithful member of W. 14th Ave. Baptist Church (now Oak Forest Baptist Church), where she taught Sunday School and, with her husband, worked with young people. Always a gracious hostess, she had entertained countless people in her home. Surely she is now re-filling iced tea glasses at the Great Banquet Table in Heaven! There will be a private family graveside service the morning of Saturday, February 11th, and a public memorial service will follow at 12:00 noon at Oak Forest Baptist Church, 1700 W. 43rd St., Houston 77018. Lunch will be served immediately following the service for all guests at the church. Officiating will be son Dwight Reagan and Pastor Richard Walters.
