

On September 12, 1946 a cute little boy was born in Lafayette, Louisiana to Viola Tollivour and William Dean. They named him Nelson Junius. In 1968 Nelson made the decision to move to Houston, Texas.
Once in Houston, Nelson received his CDL license where he worked for various moving companies as well as the Metro Transit System.
During his employment with the Transit System he met a young lady named Carolyn. After constant pursuit, he finally got her to agree to go out with him. In 1970 they got married, and remained with until her homegoing on December 18, 2022. Also preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Iris; his parents, Viola & William Dean; grandson, DeAndre as well as twin great grandsons, Merci & Messiah Blakeman.
He leaves to cherish his life 2 daughters, LaToya (Kelvin) McNeely and Keesha (Charles) Sandles; one sister, Rosemary Babineaux; nine grand-children, Maya Shaw, Chaniecya Dean, Raiven (Malik) Blakeman, Kamari Joyner, Ziyah Joyner, Brandi and Raven Dean, Glen and Tristen Arceneaux; one great-daughter, Alina Foster: one great-grandson, Rome Blakeman, and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation for Nelson will be held Monday, April 10, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Paradise Funeral Home, Inc, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088.
