Nguyễn Thị Hiếu

Hieu was the heart of her family, always full of warmth and kindness that touched everyone she met. Her life was all about putting others first, always with grace and a gentle heart. Hieu loved to keep detailed diaries, wrote heartfelt poetry, and ended each day with quiet prayers in front of her beautiful Buddhist altar. A warm cup of coffee was her daily comfort, and she often enjoyed peaceful moments throughout the day. She lovingly tended her garden and houseplants, filled her home with the scent of homemade vegan dishes, and carefully preserved her culinary traditions in a handwritten recipe book. She cherished simple pleasures like shopping trips with her daughter, Hang.

She will be remembered for baking her Hawaiian Coconut Mochi on holidays and at family gatherings, making everybody smile with her presence, giving her family life advice, and wrapping them in warm hugs. She carried her family's traditions with grace, shared stories that taught her loved ones resilience, and always knew how to make them feel seen and loved. At family gatherings, she was the center of it all. Her presence lit up the room, and everyone waited eagerly for her to join. Friends called often, and loved ones would stop by often to spend time with her. Her legacy is one of love, kindness and unshakeable grace, a legacy that will live on in everyone who was lucky enough to know her.

Hieu is survived by her daughter Hang Nguyen (Lang Tien Nguyen); her grandson Lang Robert Nguyen, her grandson Lang Benjamin Nguyen, her granddaughter Kasandra Bello Faria and her granddaughter Susu Ghafour.

Hieu was preceded in death by her husband Donald Lloyd Perry; her father Nguyen Van Hao and her mother Le Thi Bang.

A visitation for Hieu will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park, 2454 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77077. A visitation will occur Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM, 2454 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77077. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, 2454 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77077. A committal service will occur Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Forest Park Southwest Cemetery, 9040 FM359, Richmond, TX 77406.
